Exante is a global investment company that provides its clients with direct market access through its client-centric trading and investment solutions. The firm has over a decade of experience delivering bespoke and tailored solutions to clients, who are mainly professionals in the financial sector – although Exante does also work with novices and beginners in trading. Exante boasts $1.6 billion in assets, and its footprint extends over 20 global locations, including London, Cyprus, Malta, and Hong Kong.

Exante’s trading platform provides instant access to over 50 financial markets and over 600,000 financial instruments available in one single account. They also have a network of over 1,100 servers all over the world, which helps to ensure the lowest latencies and the transfer of safe data.

Established in 2011 by founders Anatoly Knyazev Exante, GatisEglitis and AleseyKirienko, the founders believe that money and information are intrinsically similar. As such, at Exante, they have aimed to use technology as a means to improve the global connectivity of the financial services industry, as well as making the trading experience as streamlined as possible.

What are Exante’sregulations?

For users wondering if Exante is a safe investment firm to keep your assets with, then you will be pleased to know that they are regulated and licensed in all locations they have offices in. This includes Malta, London, Hong Kong, and Cyprus. More specifically, in Malta, Exante is licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), which is a trustworthy financial regulator in Malta, and authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. This means it can provide financial services to both retail and corporate clients, including for both trading and investing purposes.

In London,Exante is authorised and regulated by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). In Hong Kong, the brokerage firm is licensed by the Securities and Futures Commission under the Securities and Futures Ordinance. Whereas in Cyprus, Exante is licensed by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission.

Moreover, as an EU-based investment firm, Exante is also subject to MiFID II regulations. MiFID II is a revised legislative framework that is designed to assist and protect traders, investors, and other participants in the financial sector. It covers virtually every asset and profession within the EU financial services industry and regulates off-exchange and over-the-counter (OTC) trading. The new regulations also target high-frequency trading, which means algorithms that are used for automated trading have to be registered, tested and have circuit breakers included. Additionally, the regulations increase transparency regarding costs and improve the record-keeping of any financial transactions. On the whole, MiFID II aims to standardise practices across the bloc and restore confidence in the financial sector.

How to register an account?

To open a trading account with Exante, you must first register with the brokerage firm. Fortunately, this is extremely easy and straightforward. Just navigate to their official website and click on the Open Account button. Here, you can choose which account type to open (a corporate or individual account)and input your personal information accordingly (such as your name, email, mobile phone, and for corporate accounts, your company name). Exante should get back to you shortly by giving you access to your Client’s Area.

How to open a trading account?

You can only open a trading account after first registering with Exante. After doing so, you will gain access to your Client’s Area as well as your demo account. You can either continue using your demo account to paper trade and practice your trading strategies, or you can proceed with opening a live account. Opening a live account with Exante requires more steps and documentation.

For starters, users must first fill in the questionnaire indicating their trading experience and fields of interest. This will help Exante open an account that matches your current needs. Next, you need to verify your identity by uploading the required documents for your account type. For an individual account, this means providing proof of identity and proof of residence. For a corporate account, there are more documents needed, such as proof of registration, incorporation documents, proof of active status, Tax Identification Number (TIN) and more. Usually, the verification takes one business day. Do note that Exantemay sometimes request additional documents.

Afterwards, you need to add funds to your trading account. The minimum deposit required will again depend on your account type. For individual accounts, the initial deposit should be 10,000 EUR/GBP or equivalent, while for corporate accounts, the initial deposit should be 50,000 EUR/GBP or equivalent. While this may seem like a lot, Exante does allow the deposit to be transferred in parts, as there is no fixed minimum or maximum transfer limit. That said, traders will only receive access to lie trading once they have reached the minimum deposit requirement.

To get started with live trading, you can either do so from Exante’s web trading platform in your browser, or by downloading the program to your desktop or mobile device.
